Two new Perth spots, three closures, and what corkage costs in Newtown

This week findbyo added two BYO restaurants in Perth, removed three venues that have closed, and corrected two listings. The map now covers 1,352 BYO restaurants across 28 cities. This week's suburb is Newtown in Sydney, where 22 restaurants are listed as BYO.

New on the map

Corrected and removed

Chiosco by Ormeggio, Sydney
BYO confirmed from the venue's own website: wine and champagne, $20 per bottle. The call-ahead flag has been removed.
Phamish, Sydney
Address and map pin corrected to 248 Palmer Street, Darlinghurst, after a reader pointed out the old pin was on Victoria Street.
Bar Carolina, Melbourne
Flagged call-ahead. A diner reported it is not BYO and the venue's website doesn't say either way, so check before you bring a bottle.
Thai Aroy, Brisbane
Removed. The Indooroopilly restaurant has permanently closed.
A Tavola, Sydney
Removed. The Darlinghurst restaurant has permanently closed.
Red Lantern, Sydney
Removed. The Darlinghurst restaurant has permanently closed.
Thirty-two closed venues, across the map
Removed after a Google Places check found them permanently closed, including Rubyos and Konak in Newtown and Don't Tell Uncle in Cammeray (its sister venue, Don't Tell Aunty, is moving to a new location).

Suburb of the week: Newtown, Sydney

Newtown has 22 restaurants listed as BYO, most of them along King Street and Enmore Road. Seven have a corkage fee on record, from free to $18. The other 15 are BYO with no fee listed yet, and ten listings carry a call-ahead flag because the venue itself hasn't confirmed its policy. If you know what any of them charge, tell us on the venue's page.

Most wanted: restaurants diners wish were BYO

These restaurants don't allow BYO. Diners can raise a hand on findbyo to say they'd go if that changed; 21 hands went up this week.

Help keep it accurate

findbyo is built by the people who use it. If a listing is wrong, or a BYO restaurant is missing, open the map and tell us. Corkage fees and BYO policies change, so for a special occasion, call the restaurant first.
